To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, the throttle is set to low, and the key is turned to the start position. Once the engine starts, release the key.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, verify that the spark plugs are functional, and inspect the safety switches for proper operation.
Regularly inspect the blades for sharpness and damage. Sharpen or replace them as needed, and ensure they are properly balanced after sharpening.
Use SAE 10W-30 or SAE 30 detergent oil with an API service classification of SF, SG, SH, SJ, or higher.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Check the tire pressure for consistency, inspect and adjust the deck level, and ensure the blades are sharp and balanced.
After each use, remove grass clippings and debris using a low-pressure water hose. Avoid using high-pressure washers that can damage components.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height-of-cut lever on the control panel to select the desired position from the available settings.
Check the PTO switch for proper operation, inspect the PTO clutch wiring and connections, and verify that the belt is properly tensioned and not damaged.
Regular maintenance includes checking and replacing air filters, inspecting belts and hoses, lubricating moving parts, and ensuring tire pressures are correct.
