To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle is set to low. Turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position and release it when the engine starts.
Regular maintenance includes changing the oil every 100 hours, replacing the air filter every 200 hours, and checking the spark plugs every 100 hours. Follow the manufacturer's manual for detailed instructions.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Verify the battery is charged and connections are tight. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear. Ensure the safety switches are engaged.
Remove the blades from the mower using a wrench. Use a grinder to sharpen the blades, maintaining the original angle. Balance the blades before reinstalling them to ensure even cutting.
Use the deck lift lever to adjust the cutting height. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring it locks into place to maintain consistent cutting height.
Check if the blades are dull or damaged and sharpen or replace them if necessary. Ensure the tire pressure is even and the deck is level. Inspect the spindles and belts for wear.
After each mowing session, use a hose to wash off grass clippings from the deck. Ensure the mower is off and cool before cleaning. Avoid using high pressure to prevent damage.
Toro recommends using SAE 10W-30 oil for the engine, especially in temperatures ranging from 0°F to 100°F (-18°C to 38°C). Always check the owner's manual for oil specifications.
Ensure the air filter and fuel filter are clean, maintain proper tire pressure, and keep the engine well-tuned. Avoid mowing at full throttle where possible.
Always wear protective gear, such as goggles and gloves. Ensure bystanders are at a safe distance. Be cautious on slopes and avoid sudden starts or stops. Engage the parking brake when the mower is not in use.
