To start the mower, ensure that the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the motion control levers are in the neutral position. Then, turn the ignition key to the start position and release it once the engine starts.
First, check that the PTO switch is engaged. If the blades still do not engage, inspect the PTO belt for wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Ensure all safety interlock switches are functional.
The engine oil should be changed after the first 5 hours of operation, and then every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use the recommended oil type for best performance.
The recommended tire pressure is 13 psi for the front tires and 15 psi for the rear tires. Regularly check and adjust the tire pressure for optimal performance and longevity.
Ensure the mower deck is level from side to side and front to back. Check the condition of the blades and sharpen or replace them if necessary. Also, inspect the tire pressure to make sure it is consistent on all tires.
Before storing, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, check and charge the battery, and add a fuel stabilizer. Store the mower in a dry, covered area to protect it from the elements.
Overheating can be caused by clogged air intake screens or a dirty engine. Clean these components regularly. Also, ensure the cooling fins are clear of debris and check the engine oil level frequently.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height-of-cut lever located near the operator's seat. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position, which ranges from 1.5 to 5 inches.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades or debris lodged in the mower deck. Check the blades for damage or imbalance and ensure no debris is stuck under the deck. Tighten any loose bolts or parts.
To replace the air filter, open the air filter cover, remove the old air filter, and install a new one. Ensure the new filter is seated properly and close the cover securely. Check the air filter regularly and replace it as needed.
