To adjust the cutting height, locate the height-of-cut lever on the mower's left side. Move the lever to your desired setting, ranging from 1.5 to 5 inches. Ensure the mower is on a flat surface for an accurate adjustment.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for the Z Master Turbo Force 77281, depending on the temperature range. Always check the engine oil level before each use and change it after the first 5 hours, then every 100 hours or annually.
If the mower won't start, check the battery charge, ensure the fuel valve is open, and verify that the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Also, make sure all safety interlocks are engaged, and the parking brake is on.
To clean the mower deck, park the mower on a flat surface, disengage the PTO, and turn off the engine. Use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings and debris. For stubborn buildup, use a scraper or wire brush. Ensure the deck is dry before next use to prevent rust.
The air filter should be inspected before each use and replaced every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first, to ensure optimal engine performance and longevity.
If the blades do not engage, check the PTO switch and ensure it is turned on. Inspect the belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Verify that the deck is clear of debris and the engine is at full throttle.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them with a baking soda solution if necessary. Ensure the battery is fully charged, especially before storage, and check electrolyte levels if applicable.
For off-season storage, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and remove the battery. Add a fuel stabilizer to the tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered place.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced blades or debris on the blades or under the deck. Check for damage or wear on the blades and clean the deck. Tighten any loose bolts or components.
Check the tire pressure with a gauge and inflate to the manufacturer's recommended PSI, found in the owner’s manual. Regularly inspect the tires for wear and damage, and replace if necessary for safe operation.
