To change the oil, first warm up the engine, then turn it off. Place a container under the drain plug, remove the plug, and let the oil drain completely. Replace the drain plug and fill the engine with new oil as specified in the manual.
Check the battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight. Verify that the fuel tank has fuel and that the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for fouling and replace if necessary.
Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced. Adjust the cutting height to the appropriate level for your lawn. Clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose engine mounting bolts, or debris caught in the mower deck. Inspect and correct these issues as needed.
Regular maintenance should be performed according to the schedule in the owner's manual, typically every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
To replace the air filter, remove the air filter cover, take out the old filter, insert a new one, and secure the cover back in place. Ensure the filter is seated properly.
Check the deck engagement cable for proper tension and ensure the belt is not damaged or off the pulleys. Inspect the PTO switch for functionality. Adjust or replace components as needed.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and stabilize the fuel. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
Always wear appropriate safety gear, such as goggles and sturdy footwear. Check the area for obstacles before mowing. Never leave the tractor unattended with the engine running.
