To start the mower, ensure that the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the steering levers are in the neutral position. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'Start' position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check if the PTO (Power Take-Off) switch is in the 'On' position. Ensure that the engine is running at full throttle. If the problem persists, inspect the PTO belt and pulleys for any damage or misalignment.
The oil should be changed after the first 5 hours of operation and then every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Regular oil changes ensure optimal engine performance and longevity.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content, as it can damage the engine components.
To adjust the cutting height, use the deck lift lever located near the operator's seat. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position, which ranges from 1.5 to 5 inches.
Ensure the battery is charged and connected properly. Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Verify that the spark plug is clean and properly gapped. Also, ensure all safety switches are functioning.
Regularly clean the battery terminals and apply a thin coat of dielectric grease to prevent corrosion. Check the battery charge periodically and recharge if necessary, especially during the off-season.
To winterize the mower, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer to the tank, and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
Check if the tires are properly inflated and the mower deck is leveled. Inspect the blades for sharpness and balance. Adjust the deck height if necessary to ensure even cutting.
Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed maintenance schedule, but generally, check the oil level before each use, clean the air filter every 25 hours, and inspect the belts and blades every 50 hours.
