Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the motion control levers are in the neutral lock position. Turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position and release it once the engine starts.
Regularly check and change the engine oil, clean or replace the air filter, inspect and sharpen blades, check tire pressure, and ensure all belts are in good condition.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, inspect the spark plugs for damage, verify the choke is correctly set, and check the ignition switch and safety interlock system.
Ensure the tire pressure is even, check that the blades are sharp and balanced, and adjust the deck level to ensure it is parallel to the ground.
Change the engine oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Always refer to the operator's manual for specific intervals.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
Use the cutting height adjustment lever located on the mower. Move the lever to the desired height setting, ensuring the deck is level.
Check if the PTO switch is functioning correctly, inspect the drive belts for wear or damage, and verify that the safety interlock system is not activated.
Regularly maintain the engine, keep the blades sharp, reduce mower speed when not necessary, and ensure tire pressure is correct to reduce drag.
Always wear appropriate protective gear, keep bystanders clear of the mowing area, avoid mowing on wet grass, and do not operate on slopes greater than 15 degrees. Ensure all safety interlocks are functional.
