To install the Toro XLS 79118 Bagger, first ensure your tractor is turned off and on a flat surface. Attach the mounting brackets to the rear of the tractor, then secure the bagger frame. Finally, attach the collection bags and ensure all parts are tightened securely. Refer to the user manual for detailed diagrams.
Check to ensure the chute is not clogged with grass clippings. Also, inspect the blades to make sure they are sharp. Ensure the bagger is properly attached and that the bags are not full. Adjust the mower height if needed for optimal grass collection.
Regularly inspect the bagger for wear and tear, especially the bags and chute. Clean the bagger after each use to prevent buildup of debris. Periodically check and tighten all bolts and screws. Store the bagger in a dry place to prevent rust.
Remove the bags and empty any remaining grass. Use a garden hose to rinse off the bags and chute. Allow them to dry completely before reassembling. Inspect for any damage or leaks.
Ensure the bagger is not overloaded, as this can strain the engine. Check for clogs in the chute and ensure the grass is not too wet, which can add weight. Adjust mowing speed and height if necessary.
To replace a damaged bag, first remove it by unlatching the clips or fasteners. Install the new bag by attaching the clips or fasteners securely, ensuring it is aligned correctly with the frame. Test to ensure it is securely attached.
Inspect the chute attachment points for any damage or wear. Ensure all fasteners are tightened and not stripped. Consider using new hardware if the original is worn out. Check if the chute is properly aligned and seated.
Most Toro baggers will have an indicator or window that shows when the bags are full. Additionally, you may notice that grass collection efficiency decreases. Regularly check and empty the bags to prevent overfilling.
It is not recommended to use the bagger in wet conditions as this can lead to clogging and added weight, which can strain the mower. Wait for grass to dry for optimal performance.
If the bags develop holes, they should be replaced to maintain efficient collection. Patching is not recommended as it may not hold under the weight of collected grass. Purchase replacement bags compatible with your model.
