To start the Toro Whirlwind 23316 mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Then, pull the starter grip slowly until resistance is felt, then pull forcefully.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
Blades should be sharpened at least once each mowing season or whenever you notice uneven cutting.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, and verify the air filter is not clogged.
After use, let the mower cool down, then use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris. Avoid spraying water directly onto the engine.
Drain the fuel, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Consider removing the battery if applicable.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install the new one by tightening it snugly. Reattach the spark plug wire.
Excessive vibration may be due to an unbalanced blade or debris caught in the mower. Inspect the blade and clean the underside of the mower.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and adjust them to your desired cutting height. Make sure all wheels are set to the same height.
Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced, check that all wheels are set to the same height, and inspect the mower deck for damage or debris.
