Ensure the tractor is in neutral, engage the parking brake, and turn the ignition key to start the engine. Make sure the PTO switch is off before starting.
Use SAE 10W-30 oil for optimal performance in varying temperature ranges. Always refer to the manual for specific oil recommendations.
The air filter should be checked every 25 hours of operation and replaced every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Check the PTO switch and ensure it is in the "on" position. Inspect the drive belts for wear or damage, and verify that the safety interlock system is functioning properly.
Inspect the battery terminals for corrosion and ensure cables are tightly secured. Test the alternator and voltage regulator for proper function. Replace the battery if it fails to hold a charge.
Check for debris or grass clippings under the deck. Inspect the blades for balance and wear. Tighten any loose engine or deck mounting bolts.
Use the height adjustment lever located near the operator’s seat to set the desired cutting height. Ensure the tractor is on a level surface before adjusting.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, and disconnect the battery. Store in a dry, sheltered location.
Locate the spark plug wire and remove it. Use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the old plug and replace it with a new one, ensuring it's correctly gapped. Reattach the wire.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage, ensure the transmission is properly engaged, and verify that the hydrostatic transmission fluid level is adequate.
