To start the mower, ensure the gas tank is full, the oil level is adequate, and the battery is charged. Turn the key in the ignition switch to the start position while pressing the brake pedal. Release the key once the engine starts.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, inspecting the spark plug, and checking tire pressure. Refer to the user manual for detailed schedules.
Ensure the blades are sharp and clean, mow only dry grass, and keep the underside of the deck clean. Adjust the cutting height according to the grass type and condition.
Check that there is fuel in the tank, the battery is charged, and the spark plug is clean and connected properly. Verify that the safety switches are engaged and inspect the ignition switch for any faults.
First, disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting. Tilt the mower to access the blade, use a wrench to remove the bolt securing the blade, and replace it with a new one, ensuring it's tightened to the specified torque.
Use SAE 30 oil for general use in temperatures above 32°F. For colder conditions, use SAE 5W-30. Always check the owner’s manual for the most suitable oil type for your specific model.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position to set the cutting height, ensuring all wheels are set to the same level for an even cut.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the mower and store it in a dry area.
Check the tire pressure, ensure the blade is sharp and balanced, and verify that the deck is level. Inspect the undercarriage for grass buildup that might interfere with the blades.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade. Check the blade for damage and balance. Inspect the engine mounting bolts and blade adapter for tightness and integrity.
