Ensure the mower is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle to 'fast', and turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, inspect the battery for charge, and confirm the safety switches are engaged.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F and SAE 5W-30 for colder conditions.
Regularly sharpen the blades, mow with the engine at full throttle, and ensure the deck is clean and free from debris.
Check for debris under the deck, inspect the blades for damage, and ensure all bolts are tight and the belt is properly aligned.
Locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the mower, and move it to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting height.
Check the battery terminals for corrosion, ensure connections are tight, and charge the battery if the mower is not used for extended periods.
Clean the mower thoroughly, drain the fuel or add a stabilizer, disconnect the battery, and store it in a dry, covered area.
Always wear protective gear, keep bystanders away, avoid mowing on wet grass, and never bypass safety features.
