To start the Toro Wheel Horse Recycler 70040 Mower, ensure the mower is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle lever to 'Fast', and turn the ignition key to the start position.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Ensure the fuel contains no more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine issues.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, and then every 50 hours or once per mowing season, whichever comes first.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, inspect the spark plug, and verify the air filter is clean. Also, confirm the safety interlocks are engaged.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire. Then remove the blade from the mower deck. Use a bench grinder or a file to sharpen the blade evenly on both sides. Reinstall the blade and reconnect the spark plug wire.
Clean the mower deck, change the oil, inspect and replace the spark plug if necessary, check the air filter, and store the mower in a dry place. Consider using a fuel stabilizer to maintain fuel quality.
To adjust the cutting height, move the height adjustment lever located on each wheel to the desired position, ensuring that all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade, debris lodged in the mower deck, or loose engine mounting bolts. Inspect these components and tighten, clean, or replace as necessary.
Keep the mower blades sharp, mow when the grass is dry, and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass height in a single pass to improve mulching efficiency.
Ensure the PTO (Power Take-Off) switch is engaged, check the mower belt for damage or wear, and inspect the PTO clutch and wiring for any issues. Replace or repair as necessary.
