To start the Toro Wheel Horse C5-60SC02 Mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle is set to 'Fast'. Then, turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position until the engine fires.
If the mower does not start, check the battery connections, ensure there is fuel in the tank, and inspect the spark plug for any damage. Also, verify that the safety switches are functioning correctly.
To improve cutting performance, regularly sharpen the blades, clean the underside of the deck, and ensure the tire pressure is correct. Adjust the mowing height to suit the grass type and condition.
Regular maintenance includes changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, checking the tire pressure, sharpening the blades, and inspecting belts and cables for wear.
To troubleshoot uneven cutting, check for a bent blade, ensure the deck is level, and inspect for any obstructions or buildup under the deck. Adjust the deck height if necessary.
To change the oil, warm up the engine, then turn it off and disconnect the spark plug wire. Drain the old oil, replace the oil filter, and refill with new oil as per the manufacturer's recommendations.
Blades should be sharpened after every 25 hours of use or at least once a mowing season to ensure optimal performance and a clean cut.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose bolts, or debris caught in the mower deck. Inspect these areas and address any issues found.
To store the mower safely for winter, clean it thoroughly, perform any necessary maintenance, add a fuel stabilizer, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the battery and cover the mower to protect it from dust and debris.
If the cutting deck is not engaging, check the PTO switch and connections, inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and ensure the engine is running at full throttle.
