To change the blades, first ensure the mower is turned off and disconnect the spark plug. Raise the mower deck to access the blades. Use a wrench to remove the bolts holding the blades in place, then replace with new blades and secure them tightly.
Regular maintenance should include checking the oil level before each use, changing the oil every 25 hours of operation, inspecting and cleaning the air filter every 25 hours, and sharpening the blades twice a season or as needed.
If the engine won't start, check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Verify that the spark plug is clean and connected properly. Also, make sure the battery is charged and the safety interlocks are engaged.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Always check the owner's manual for specific oil recommendations.
Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced. Check that the tire pressure is equal, and adjust the deck height to the desired cutting level. Regularly clean the underside of the deck to prevent grass buildup.
To winterize, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove or stabilize the fuel, and store the battery in a cool, dry place. Cover the mower to protect it from dust and moisture.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose components, or debris stuck in the mower deck. Check and balance the blades, tighten any loose parts, and clean the deck.
To adjust the mowing deck height, locate the deck lift lever, typically on the right side of the seat. Move the lever to raise or lower the deck to the desired position. Ensure both sides are adjusted equally for an even cut.
Check for dull or damaged blades and sharpen or replace them as needed. Verify that the deck is level and adjust if necessary. Inspect the tire pressure to ensure it is equal on both sides.
To replace the drive belt, first disconnect the spark plug and remove the mower deck. Locate the belt and release the tension by moving the tensioner pulley. Remove the old belt and install the new one, then reattach the deck and reconnect the spark plug.
