To change the blade, ensure the mower is off and disconnect the spark plug. Tilt the mower to access the blade, use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, and install the new blade by tightening the bolt securely.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter. If these are fine, check the battery and connections for issues.
Regularly sharpen the blades, maintain proper tire pressure, and ensure the deck is clean and level. Adjust the cutting height as needed for different grass types.
Clean the mower deck, change the oil, inspect and replace the spark plug if necessary, and store the mower in a dry location. Consider adding a fuel stabilizer to the tank.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose bolts, or debris trapped under the deck. Inspect these areas and address any issues found.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug. Use a hose to rinse away grass clippings and debris, and if necessary, scrape off any stubborn buildup with a putty knife.
Ensure the air intake and cooling fins are clean and unobstructed. Check the oil level and ensure the engine is not overworked by cutting grass that's too tall or wet.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use for a new engine, and then every 25-50 hours of operation or at least once a season.
Refer to the owner's manual for the recommended oil type, typically SAE 30 for warmer temperatures or SAE 10W-30 for a wider range of temperatures.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel, and adjust them to the same position to ensure an even cut. The levers can be moved to raise or lower the cutting height.
