To change the cutting height, locate the deck lift lever on the right side of the mower. Move the lever to your desired cutting height setting, ensuring it clicks into place.
If the mower does not start, check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. Make sure the safety interlocks are engaged and the blade engagement lever is in the off position.
Mower blades should be sharpened at least once per mowing season, or more frequently if you notice uneven cutting or tearing of the grass.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Always check the owner’s manual for specific oil recommendations.
After each use, clean the mower deck by scraping off grass clippings and debris with a brush or plastic scraper. Use a hose to rinse the deck, ensuring the mower is off and cool before cleaning.
Excessive vibration may be caused by an unbalanced blade or loose hardware. Check and tighten all bolts and nuts on the mower deck, and inspect the blades for damage or imbalance.
To replace the drive belt, first remove the mower deck. Then, follow the belt routing diagram located on the mower to install the new belt, ensuring it is properly seated on all pulleys.
Perform routine maintenance every 25 hours of operation, including checking the oil, air filter, and spark plug. Sharpen blades and lubricate moving parts as needed. Refer to the owner’s manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
To adjust the mower deck, park the mower on a level surface and turn off the engine. Adjust the deck leveling links on each side of the deck to ensure it is level from side to side and front to back.
Check the mower blades for sharpness and proper installation. Ensure the deck is level and the tire pressure is even. Also, reduce speed to allow the mower to cut more effectively.
