To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle is set to 'choke' if the engine is cold. Turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine starts, then release it to the 'run' position.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Refer to the owner's manual for specific recommendations based on your operating conditions.
It is recommended to sharpen the mower blades after every 25 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season to ensure a clean cut and maintain lawn health.
Check the fuel level, battery charge, and spark plug condition. Ensure the air filter is clean and that the safety switches are engaged. If the problem persists, consult a professional technician.
The recommended tire pressure is typically 10-12 psi for the front tires and 12-15 psi for the rear tires. Always refer to the tire sidewall or the owner's manual for the most accurate specifications.
Adjust the cutting height by using the deck lift lever located on the right side of the mower. Choose the desired cutting height position ranging from 1.5 to 4 inches.
Regularly clean the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, check for rust, and inspect the blades for sharpness. Lubricate the spindles and check the belt for wear.
First, disconnect the spark plug for safety. Remove the mower deck, then release tension on the belt by adjusting the idler pulley. Remove the old belt and install the new belt, ensuring it is properly seated in the pulleys. Reassemble the deck and reconnect the spark plug.
Uncut strips may be due to dull blades, incorrect mowing speed, or improper deck level. Ensure blades are sharp, mow at the correct speed for conditions, and check that the deck is level.
To winterize, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, drain the fuel or add a stabilizer, remove the battery, and store it in a dry place. Cover the mower to protect it from dust and moisture.
