To change the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the mower deck. Move the lever to the desired position according to the height settings marked on the deck. Ensure both sides are set to the same height for an even cut.
First, check the fuel level and make sure the fuel valve is open. Verify the spark plug is connected and not fouled. Ensure the battery is charged and the safety features, like the seat switch, are properly engaged. If the problem persists, consult the user manual for further troubleshooting.
Sharpen the blades at least once per mowing season or more frequently if you notice uneven cutting or tearing of the grass. Always ensure the mower is off and the blades are secure when removing them for sharpening.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) or SAE 10W-30 for a broader temperature range. Refer to the engine manual for specific oil recommendations based on your operating conditions.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the mower deck and disengage the belt from the pulleys. Install the new belt by routing it around the pulleys, following the same path as the old belt. Reattach the mower deck and reconnect the spark plug.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose bolts, or worn-out bearings. Inspect the blades for damage and ensure all bolts are tight. Replace any worn or damaged parts.
Clean the mower thoroughly to remove grass and debris. Change the oil and replace the fuel with a fuel stabilizer mix. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the mower or store it in a dry location to protect it from the elements.
Inspect the oil filter and drain plug for tightness. Check the oil seals and gaskets for damage. If a seal or gasket is faulty, it will need to be replaced. Ensure the oil is not overfilled and is at the correct level.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can lead to an uneven cut, clogging of the mower deck, and potential slipping hazards. Wait until the grass is dry for optimal mowing conditions.
After ensuring the mower is turned off and the spark plug is disconnected, use a hose to spray off grass clippings and debris from the deck. For stubborn debris, use a scraper or brush. Allow the deck to dry completely before storing.
