To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the mower deck. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring both sides are set to the same height for an even cut.
Use SAE 10W-30 or SAE 30 engine oil for optimal performance. Check the owner's manual for temperature-specific recommendations.
Blade sharpening should be done after 25 hours of mowing or if you notice the grass is being torn rather than cut cleanly.
Check for proper fuel level, ensure the spark plug is functional, and verify the air filter is clean. Also, make sure the safety features are properly engaged.
First, disconnect the spark plug. Remove the mower deck and locate the belt. Follow the belt routing diagram to install the new belt, then reattach the deck and reconnect the spark plug.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, and inspecting the belts and tires for wear.
To winterize, drain the fuel tank, change the oil, remove the battery, and clean the mower thoroughly. Store it in a dry place to prevent rust and damage.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can lead to uneven cutting, clogging of the mower deck, and safety hazards. Wait until the grass is dry.
Ensure the mower deck is level, the blades are sharp, and the tire pressure is consistent. Check for debris buildup under the deck.
Turn off the engine immediately, let it cool, and check for obstructions in the cooling fins and airflow areas. Ensure the oil level is adequate and that the air filter is clean.
