To start the mower, ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Engage the parking brake, place the throttle in the 'Start' position, and turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. Make sure the parking brake is engaged and the PTO is off.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours or at least once per season for optimal performance.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
Disconnect the spark plug. Remove the blade by loosening the bolts. Sharpen with a file or grinding wheel, maintaining the original angle. Balance the blade before reinstalling.
Uneven cutting can be caused by dull blades, incorrect tire pressure, or an unlevel deck. Check and correct these issues to improve cutting performance.
After mowing, remove grass clippings and debris using a garden hose or a scraper to prevent rust and maintain optimal performance.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, check and charge the battery, and store the mower in a dry place. Consider stabilizing the fuel or emptying the tank.
Locate the height adjustment lever, usually near the rear wheel. Move the lever to your desired cutting height, ensuring both sides are set equally.
Turn off the engine and let it cool. Check for obstructions in the cooling fins, ensure proper oil levels, and verify that the air filter is clean.
