To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle is set to the choke position. Then, turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine begins to run.
Check the PTO switch to ensure it is in the "on" position. Inspect the drive belt for any damage or misalignment and make sure the battery is fully charged.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is in good condition, inspect the air filter for clogs, and verify the battery is charged.
Remove the blades from the mower and use a file or grinder to sharpen the cutting edge, maintaining the original angle. Balance the blades before reinstalling them.
Use the cutting height adjustment lever located near the driver's seat. Move the lever to the desired height setting, ensuring both sides are set equally.
Regularly check and change the oil, inspect the air filter, ensure the blades are sharp, and lubricate moving parts as specified in the owner's manual.
Clean the mower thoroughly, drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, and store in a dry, covered area. Disconnect the battery to prevent discharge.
Check for debris in the blades, inspect the blade balance, and ensure all bolts and screws are tightened. Examine the drive belt and pulleys for wear.
