To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is turned off, and the throttle is in the 'choke' position for a cold start. Turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Use SAE 10W-30 or SAE 30 weight oil for the engine, depending on the temperature conditions. Refer to the user manual for detailed temperature guidelines.
Blades should be sharpened after every 25 hours of use or if you notice uneven cutting. Always check for damage before sharpening.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel tank has fresh gasoline, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. Clean or replace components as necessary.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the mower deck and move it to the desired position. Ensure both sides are set equally for an even cut.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them with a mixture of baking soda and water. Keep the battery charged, especially during off-season storage.
Check for debris build-up under the deck, inspect the blades for damage, and ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened properly. Replace any worn-out components.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and gently tap it to remove dirt. If it’s very dirty, wash it with warm soapy water, rinse, and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install the new plug by hand initially, then tighten with the wrench. Reattach the spark plug wire.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, inspecting the blades, cleaning the mower deck, checking tire pressure, and cleaning or replacing filters. Follow the maintenance schedule in the user manual.
