Toro Wheel Horse 268-HE 72107 Operator's Manual

To change the oil, first warm up the engine for a few minutes to ensure the oil flows out smoothly. Turn off the engine and remove the oil drain plug located beneath the engine. Allow the oil to drain completely into a pan. Replace the drain plug and fill the engine with new oil up to the recommended level.
If your tractor won't start, first check the battery connections to ensure they're clean and tight. Verify that the fuel tank is full and that the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and replace it if necessary. Ensure the PTO switch is off and the brake pedal is fully depressed.
To store your tractor for the winter, clean it thoroughly to remove dirt and debris. Change the oil and filter, and fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel and a stabilizer. Inflate the tires to the recommended pressure and disconnect the battery. Store the tractor in a dry, sheltered location.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level before each use, changing the oil and filter every 50 hours of operation, inspecting the air filter every 25 hours and replacing it if necessary, and lubricating the fittings every 25 hours. Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed schedule.
Uneven cutting can be caused by a dull or damaged blade, improper tire pressure, or an uneven deck. Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced, check that all tires are inflated to the recommended pressure, and adjust the deck as needed to ensure it is level.
Use SAE 30 engine oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C). For temperatures below 32°F (0°C), use 10W-30 oil. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific oil recommendations based on your operating conditions.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired setting, ensuring that both sides of the deck are adjusted evenly for a uniform cut.
If the transmission is not engaging, check the transmission fluid level and add fluid if necessary. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if needed. Ensure that all linkage connections are secure and properly adjusted.
To replace the drive belt, disconnect the battery and remove the mower deck. Release the belt tension and remove the old belt from the pulleys. Install the new belt by routing it around the pulleys as per the diagram in the manual, reapply tension, and reattach the mower deck.
Always wear appropriate safety gear, such as gloves and eye protection. Ensure the area is clear of bystanders and obstacles before mowing. Never operate the tractor on steep slopes, and always disengage the PTO and set the parking brake before leaving the seat.
