Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle to 'Fast', turn the ignition key to 'Start', and release once the engine starts.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once a season. Be sure to use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel valve is open, verify the spark plug is clean, and ensure the air filter is not clogged.
To adjust the mowing deck, park the tractor on a level surface, lower the deck to the desired height using the deck lift lever, and ensure it's level side-to-side.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the blades, checking tire pressure, and lubricating moving parts.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, check and set the gap on the new plug, and install it by hand before tightening with the wrench.
Check the PTO switch for engagement, inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and ensure the deck is properly attached.
Regular maintenance is key: keep the blades sharp, maintain correct tire pressure, and clean the air filter to ensure optimal performance and fuel efficiency.
The recommended tire pressure is generally 10 psi for the rear tires and 14 psi for the front tires. Always refer to the owner's manual for exact specifications.
