To start the Toro Titan ZX5400, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the motion control levers are in the neutral position. Insert the key and turn it to the 'Start' position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Regular maintenance for the Toro Titan ZX5400 includes checking the oil level, cleaning the air filter, inspecting blades and belts, and checking tire pressure. Refer to the manual for the complete maintenance schedule.
Uneven cutting can be due to unlevel deck, dull blades, or incorrect tire pressure. Check and adjust the deck level, sharpen or replace blades, and ensure tires are inflated to recommended pressure.
If the mower won't start, check the battery charge, ensure fuel is in the tank, inspect the spark plug, and verify the safety interlocks are engaged.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once a season. Always use the recommended oil type and replace the oil filter when changing the oil.
To clean the deck, use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris. Avoid using high-pressure washers. For stubborn debris, manually scrape the deck using a plastic scraper.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends above E10 as they can damage the engine.
Adjust the cutting height using the foot-operated deck lift pedal. Move the deck lever to the desired height position. Refer to the height indicator for precision.
If the blades won't engage, check the PTO switch, inspect the drive belts for wear or damage, and ensure the battery is fully charged.
To improve performance on slopes, mow up and down rather than across the slope. Keep the speed steady, avoid sharp turns, and ensure the tires have adequate grip.
