To start the Toro Titan ZX5000 74820 mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is in the 'Off' position, and the throttle is set to 'Fast'. Turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position and release it once the engine starts.
If the mower deck does not engage, check the PTO switch and ensure it is in the 'On' position. Inspect the deck belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Verify that all connections are secure and the battery is fully charged.
The oil in the Toro Titan ZX5000 should be changed after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use SAE 10W-30 oil for optimal performance.
The Toro Titan ZX5000 is designed to run on unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the mower. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position. The mower offers multiple height settings to suit varying grass lengths.
If your mower is leaving uncut strips, check the blade condition and ensure they are sharp and properly installed. Inspect the deck for obstructions and verify that the deck is level. Adjust as necessary to ensure even cutting.
To winterize the Toro Titan ZX5000, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil and air filter, and add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank. Store the mower in a dry place and disconnect the battery to prevent drainage.
For starting issues, check the battery charge and connections. Ensure the fuel valve is open and the fuel filter is not clogged. Inspect the spark plug for wear and replace if necessary. Verify that safety switches are functioning correctly.
To replace the air filter, open the hood and remove the air filter cover. Take out the old filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is seated properly. Reattach the cover securely.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting and replacing air and fuel filters, checking the spark plug, sharpening blades, lubricating moving parts, and ensuring tire pressure is correct.
