Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the motion control levers are in the neutral position. Insert the key and turn it to the start position until the engine fires.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil with an API service classification of SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, or higher.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Check to ensure the PTO switch is in the 'on' position. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and ensure the engine is running at full throttle.
Use the deck lift lever located to the right of the operator's seat to raise or lower the deck to the desired cutting height.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, loose bolts, or debris caught in the mower deck. Inspect and balance the blades, tighten any loose hardware, and clean the deck.
Regularly maintain your engine by changing the oil, replacing air filters, and keeping the spark plugs in good condition. Also, ensure your tire pressures are correct and blades are sharp.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and fill the fuel tank with stabilizer-treated gasoline. Store in a dry area and disconnect the battery.
Ensure the tire pressures are equal on both sides and check that the mower deck is level. Also, inspect the blades for sharpness and any damage.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting and replacing the air filter, sharpening blades, checking tire pressure, and ensuring all bolts and nuts are tight.
