To start the Toro Titan 48-inch 78472 Mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, move the throttle lever to 'Fast', ensure the PTO switch is off, turn the ignition key to 'Start', and release it to 'Run' once the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, verify that the parking brake is engaged, and inspect the spark plug for damage. It might also be helpful to check for any blown fuses.
Change the oil after the first 8 hours of use, and then every 50 hours or annually thereafter, whichever comes first. Always use high-quality oil recommended in the manual.
The recommended oil type is SAE 30 or 10W-30 for general use. Refer to the manual for temperature-specific oil recommendations.
Ensure the deck is level from side to side and front to back. Check for dull blades and sharpen or replace them if necessary. Also, inspect the tire pressure and adjust it to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Use a low-pressure water hose to remove grass build-up from the deck. Avoid using high-pressure washers, as they can damage components. Always disconnect the spark plug before cleaning.
Ensure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, then replace the blade. Make sure the new blade is installed correctly and securely.
Check for loose or damaged blades and ensure they are balanced. Inspect the drive belts for wear. Tighten any loose bolts or components that may be contributing to the vibration.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, add a fuel stabilizer, and run the engine to circulate the stabilizer. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Keep the mower in a dry, covered location.
Use the height adjustment lever located next to the operator's seat. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position, ensuring it clicks into place.
