To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then stop the engine. Remove the drain plug and allow the oil to completely drain into a pan. Replace the drain plug and refill the engine with new oil, checking the level with the dipstick.
Check the battery connections to ensure they are tight and clean. Verify the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
Sharpen the mower blades after every 25 hours of use or when you notice a decrease in cutting performance. Ensure blades are balanced after sharpening.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 and a maximum of 10% ethanol. Avoid using gasoline with methanol or more than 10% ethanol.
Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Use a garden hose to spray off grass clippings and debris from the deck. For thorough cleaning, remove the deck and scrape off any stuck debris.
Check for debris or damage to the blades and ensure they are securely fastened. Inspect the pulleys and belts for wear or damage. If the issue persists, contact a service professional.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the side of the mower. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position. Ensure both sides are set to the same height for an even cut.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and remove the battery to store it in a cool, dry place. Add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank and run the engine for a few minutes to circulate.
Regularly maintain the engine by changing the oil and air filter, keep the blades sharp, and avoid mowing when the grass is excessively wet. Ensure tire pressure is at the recommended level.
Ensure that the tires are inflated to the correct pressure and that the blades are sharp and balanced. Check the deck level and adjust if necessary. Examine for bent or damaged blades.
