To change the oil, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the oil drain cap and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the oil filter, if necessary. Refill with the recommended oil type, checking the level with the dipstick.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure there is fresh fuel in the tank. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Verify the safety switches are engaged properly.
Locate the height adjustment lever on the mower deck. Move the lever to your desired cutting height, which ranges from 1.5 to 4.5 inches. Ensure the deck is level for an even cut.
The maintenance schedule includes checking the oil before each use, changing the oil after the first 5 hours and every 50 hours thereafter, cleaning the air filter every 25 hours, and sharpening the blades as needed.
Ensure the mower is off and the ignition key is removed. Disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, then replace the old blades with new ones, ensuring they are securely fastened.
Check the blades for damage or imbalance. Inspect the deck belt for wear or damage. Ensure all mounting bolts and fasteners are tightened to the correct torque specifications.
Check for uneven tire pressure and adjust as necessary. Ensure the blades are sharp and undamaged. Verify that the mower deck is level and adjust if needed.
After each use, remove grass clippings and debris from the deck using a garden hose or air blower. Avoid using a pressure washer, as this can damage components. Consider using a deck cleaner attachment for thorough cleaning.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using fuel with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent damage to the engine components.
Clean the mower thoroughly, checking for any needed repairs. Stabilize the fuel or drain it completely. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered location. Disconnect the battery and charge it periodically to maintain its health.
