Ensure the mower is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, ensure the PTO switch is off, and move the control levers to the neutral position. Turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, inspect the spark plugs, and verify that the safety interlock systems are engaged properly.
Use the deck lift lever located on the right side of the mower to adjust the cutting height. Different notches correspond to different heights.
Regularly check and change the oil, replace the air filter, inspect the spark plug, and ensure that the cooling fins are clean.
Check the tire pressure, ensure the deck is level, inspect the blades for damage, and verify that the blades are sharp and correctly installed.
Inspect the PTO switch and wiring, ensure the belt is properly tensioned, and check for any obstructions preventing blade movement.
Ensure the mower is off and cool. Use a garden hose to spray off grass clippings and debris. For stubborn buildup, use a scraper to remove dried material.
Maintain the front tires at 13 psi and the rear tires at 10 psi for optimal performance and cutting.
Sharpen the blades at least once a season or after approximately 25 hours of use for best cutting performance.
Clean the mower thoroughly, perform necessary maintenance such as oil change and blade sharpening, add fuel stabilizer, and store in a dry and sheltered location.
