To adjust the cutting height, use the mower's deck lift lever located on the right side of the mower. Move the lever to the desired height position, ranging from 1.5 inches to 4.5 inches.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 motor oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Ensure the oil is API service classification SJ or higher.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours or at least once per mowing season thereafter.
Check if the PTO (Power Take Off) switch is in the correct position. Ensure the mower is started properly and that the deck drive belt is not damaged or loose. Replace the belt if necessary.
Ensure that the tire pressures are equal and correct. Check that the mower deck is level from side to side and front to back. Adjust the deck leveling as needed and sharpen blades if dull.
To winterize, clean the mower thoroughly, change the engine oil, drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer, and store the mower in a dry place. Disconnect the battery and charge it periodically.
To replace the air filter, remove the filter cover, take out the old filter, and insert a new one, ensuring it is seated properly. Replace the cover securely. Check the owner's manual for specific instructions.
Check the fuel level and quality. Ensure the battery is charged and connected properly. Check the spark plug for fouling or damage and replace if necessary. Verify that all safety switches are engaged.
Blade sharpening frequency depends on usage, but generally, it is recommended to sharpen the blades every 25 hours of mowing or at least once per season. Replace the blades if they are severely worn or damaged.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing engine oil, cleaning the air filter, sharpening blades, checking tire pressure, and inspecting belts and safety systems. Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed schedule.
