Ensure the mower is on a flat surface, sit in the operator's seat, engage the parking brake, and set the mower's PTO switch to "Off." Push the throttle to the "Fast" position, and turn the ignition key to "Start."
Use a high-quality SAE 30 or 10W-30 detergent oil classified as "For Service SF, SG, SH, SJ" or higher. Check the oil level regularly and change it as recommended in the manual.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height-of-cut lever on the mower's right side. Move the lever to the desired height position, ranging from 1.5 to 4.5 inches. Make sure the mower is off and the blades have stopped before making adjustments.
Check for common issues such as a dead battery, improper starting procedure, or the fuel valve being off. Ensure the parking brake is engaged, and the PTO switch is off. If issues persist, consult the manual or a professional technician.
For safety, remove the key and disconnect the spark plug before beginning. Remove the blade bolts and sharpen the blades using a grinder. Ensure blades are balanced before reinstallation. For detailed instructions, refer to the user manual.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, replacing the air filter, inspecting the blades, checking tire pressure, and cleaning the mower deck. Refer to the maintenance schedule in the user manual for more details.
Ensure the deck is level and the blades are sharp. Check the tire pressure and make sure it's even on all sides. If the problem persists, inspect the mower deck for damage or wear.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug. Use a garden hose with a spray nozzle to wash beneath the deck, removing grass clippings and debris. For thorough cleaning, consider using a scraper or brush.
Ensure the mower is off and the spark plugs are disconnected. Remove the mower deck and take note of the belt routing. Remove the old belt and install the new one, following the original routing path. Reassemble the deck.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades or loose components. Check that the blades are balanced and securely attached. Inspect the engine mounting bolts and deck for any loose parts.
