To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is in the "Off" position, and the motion control levers are in the neutral lock position. Turn the ignition key to the "Start" position until the engine starts, then release.
Check if the PTO switch is turned on and inspect the mower deck belt for any damage or misalignment. Ensure the engine is running at full throttle and check the electrical connections to the PTO clutch.
Regularly sharpen the mower blades and keep the underside of the mower deck clean to prevent grass buildup. Adjust the cutting height according to the grass conditions and ensure tires are properly inflated for even cuts.
Perform an oil change every 50 hours of operation, check the air filter every 25 hours, and replace the spark plug annually. Regularly inspect belts, hoses, and the battery. Clean the mower deck after each use.
Ensure the bypass valve is closed and check the hydrostatic fluid level. Inspect the motion control linkage for any disconnections or damage, and verify the drive belt is intact and properly tensioned.
Always wear protective gear, ensure the area is clear of bystanders, and never operate the mower on wet grass or steep slopes. Disengage blades and shut off the engine before making adjustments or clearing clogs.
Store the mower in a dry, sheltered area and perform regular maintenance as per the user manual. Use fresh fuel, check for leaks, and address any issues promptly to prevent further damage.
Inspect the air filter for dirt and replace if necessary. Ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and check the fuel for contamination. Adjust the carburetor if needed.
Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then stop the engine. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug, add new oil, and check the oil level with the dipstick.
Clean the mower thoroughly and perform all scheduled maintenance. Add fuel stabilizer to the tank, change the oil, and remove the battery for storage in a cool, dry place. Cover the mower to protect it from dust and moisture.
