To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the blade control switch is off, and the throttle is set to 'Fast.' Turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position until the engine fires, then release.
Use SAE 10W-30 or SAE 30 motor oil that meets the API service classification SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, or higher.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, the battery is charged, and the safety switches are engaged.
Use the height-of-cut lever located on the side of the mower. Move the lever to the desired cutting height, ranging from 1.5 to 4.5 inches.
Ensure the blades are sharp, the deck is clean, and you're mowing at the correct speed for the conditions.
Regular tasks include checking the oil level, cleaning the mower deck, sharpening blades, and inspecting the air filter.
After each use, use a hose to remove grass clippings and debris. Ensure the engine is off and the key is removed before cleaning.
Disconnect the spark plug, lift the mower, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolts. Replace with new blades and tighten securely.
Check for loose or damaged blades, debris buildup under the deck, or unbalanced tires. Tighten or replace parts as needed.
