To start the Toro T800 62008 Generator, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is set to 'closed' for a cold start, and the engine switch is in the 'ON' position. Then, pull the recoil starter handle gently until resistance is felt, and then pull briskly.
If the generator won't start, check the fuel level and ensure there is fresh gasoline. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly gapped. Ensure the air filter is clean and the oil level is adequate. Check all switches and settings to be sure they are correct.
Change the oil after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use SAE 10W-30 oil for optimal performance.
Routinely check and clean the air filter, inspect the spark plug, and change the oil. Make sure to check the fuel system for leaks and ensure all nuts and bolts are tightened securely.
Use clean, fresh unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol.
Drain the fuel tank and carburetor to prevent gum deposits. Change the oil, remove the spark plug, and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder. Pull the starter cord to distribute the oil. Store in a dry, clean place.
Check the circuit breaker to ensure it is not tripped. Inspect the generator’s connections and the extension cords. If these are fine, the issue might be with the alternator or electrical system, which may require professional servicing.
Place the generator on a soft surface like grass, use a sound deflector, or build a soundproof enclosure with proper ventilation. Regular maintenance also helps in reducing operational noise.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. Wash it with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry completely. Reinstall it once dry. Replace if it's damaged or excessively dirty.
Operate the generator outdoors away from windows and doors to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. Never refuel while the engine is running and keep the generator dry. Use proper electrical cords for connections.
