To start the Toro Super Recycler 48-cm 21680 Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Engage the safety handle, then pull the starter rope briskly.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil before each use, cleaning the air filter every 25 hours, and sharpening the blade at least once per season.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired height setting. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level, spark plug connection, and air filter. Ensure the safety handle is engaged and the starter rope is not damaged.
To clean the mower deck, disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Tilt the mower and use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris from the underside of the deck.
Ensure the blade is sharp and the underside of the deck is clean. Mow frequently and avoid cutting wet grass to enhance mulching performance.
Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C). For colder temperatures, use 5W-30 oil. Always check the owner's manual for the best recommendation.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire and use a spark plug wrench to remove the old spark plug. Install a new, correctly gapped spark plug and reconnect the wire.
Excessive vibration may indicate a damaged or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade for damage, and balance it or replace it if necessary.
Before storing the mower for winter, clean the mower thoroughly, drain the fuel, change the oil, and remove the battery if applicable. Store in a dry, sheltered location.
