To start the Toro Super Recycler 21387 mower, ensure that the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'choke' if the engine is cold, and the blade control bar is held against the handle. Then, pull the starter handle quickly to start the engine.
If your mower won't start, check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is clean and connected, and verify that the air filter is not clogged. Additionally, check the oil level and make sure the mower is not in a flooded condition.
It's recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use for break-in, and then every 25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
Adjust the cutting height by using the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Raise or lower the mower deck to the desired height setting. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
To improve mulching performance, ensure the blade is sharp and clean. Mow when the grass is dry, and do not cut more than one-third of the grass height at a time. Regularly clean the underdeck to prevent grass buildup.
At the end of the mowing season, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean or replace the air filter, check the spark plug, and clean the mower deck. Store the mower in a dry place.
To replace the blade, disconnect the spark plug wire and tip the mower on its side with the air filter facing up. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, replace the blade, and then securely tighten the bolt. Ensure the blade is installed correctly with the cutting edge facing the correct direction.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade for damage and replace if necessary. Check that the blade is properly balanced and securely fastened.
To clean the underdeck, ensure the mower is turned off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Tip the mower on its side with the air filter facing up and use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris. Ensure the deck is dry before storing the mower.
