Ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Check that the fuel valve is open, the throttle lever is in the 'Choke' position, and the safety key is inserted. Hold the brake lever against the handle and pull the starter rope briskly.
Check the fuel level and ensure there is fresh gasoline. Inspect the spark plug for damage or dirt and replace if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and not clogged. Confirm that the safety key is properly inserted.
For optimal performance, change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Use SAE 30 oil for general warm weather mowing. If operating in cooler temperatures, consider using SAE 10W-30 for improved cold-weather starting.
Ensure the mower is off and cool. Tip the mower on its side with the air filter facing up. Use a hose to spray the underside of the deck, removing clippings and debris. Avoid using a high-pressure washer.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel deterioration. Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and check the spark plug. Store in a dry, sheltered location.
Excessive vibration may be caused by an unbalanced blade, loose parts, or debris caught in the mower. Check and balance the blade, tighten any loose bolts, and clear out debris.
Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced. Adjust the cutting height to suit the grass condition. Mow when the grass is dry and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time.
Check the drive cable for proper tension and adjust if necessary. Inspect the wheels and drive system for wear or damage. Lubricate any moving parts as per the user manual.
Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Tilt the mower on its side with the air filter facing up. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt and replace the blade. Tighten the bolt securely before use.
