To start the mower, first ensure the fuel valve is open, then pull the starter handle firmly. Make sure the blade control bar is engaged.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and verify that the air filter is clean. Make sure the blade control bar is engaged properly.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and sharpening the mower blades.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours or once per mowing season thereafter.
Ensure the mower blade is sharp and clean, check the cutting height, and mow at a slower pace to allow for more effective cutting.
Clean the mower thoroughly, remove the fuel or use a fuel stabilizer, and store it in a dry, sheltered location. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starts.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, tilt the mower, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Replace with a new blade and secure tightly before reconnecting the spark plug wire.
Check for debris lodged in the blade area, ensure the blade is balanced, and inspect for any loose parts. Tighten any loose bolts or screws.
