Ensure the mower is on a flat surface, pull the blade control bar to the handle, and pull the starter rope with a quick, firm motion.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and inspect the air filter for clogs. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact customer support.
Sharpen the mower blades every 20 to 25 hours of use or whenever you notice the grass is not cutting cleanly.
After each use, remove grass clippings from the deck with a brush or a hose. Avoid using high-pressure water, as it can damage components.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the wheel height adjusters located at each wheel. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 below 32°F (0°C).
Ensure that the blade is sharp and balanced, check the tire pressure, and verify that the deck is level. Adjust as necessary.
Drain the fuel tank, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered location. Consider removing the battery if applicable.
Check for debris lodged in the blade area, inspect the blade for damage, and ensure it is securely fastened. Replace or repair as necessary.
Ensure the bag is not full, the blade is sharp, and the engine is running at full throttle. Mow when the grass is dry to improve bagging efficiency.
