To start the Toro Super Recycler 20490 mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged (if needed), and the blade control bar is pressed against the handle. Then, pull the starter rope briskly.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 or SAE 10W-30 motor oil for the Super Recycler 20490 mower. Check the owner's manual for specific temperature guidelines.
It is recommended to sharpen the mower blade after every 20-25 hours of use or when you notice a decrease in cutting performance.
If the mower won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter. Consider replacing the spark plug or cleaning the carburetor if the issue persists.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Move the lever to the desired position to change the height of the cut.
After each use, disconnect the spark plug, use a hose to wash away grass clippings, and scrape any remaining debris with a plastic scraper. Ensure the mower is dry before storing.
To winterize the mower, drain the fuel tank, change the oil, remove and clean the spark plug, and store the mower in a dry place. Consider adding a fuel stabilizer if storing with fuel.
Uneven cutting may be due to a dull blade, incorrect cutting height, or uneven tire pressure. Sharpen the blade, adjust the cutting height, and check tire pressure to resolve the issue.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a bent blade, loose parts, or debris build-up. Inspect the blade for damage, tighten any loose bolts, and clean the mower deck.
To replace the air filter, locate the air filter cover on the side of the engine, remove the cover, take out the old filter, and insert a new one. Secure the cover back in place.
