Toro Super Recycler 20489 Operator's Manual

To start the Toro Super Recycler 20489, first ensure that the fuel shut-off valve is open and the mower is on a flat surface. Then, pull the bail lever to the handlebar and pull the recoil starter handle quickly.
If your Toro mower does not start, check the fuel level, spark plug condition, and air filter. Ensure the fuel is fresh and the spark plug is clean and properly gapped. Clean or replace the air filter if it's dirty.
Change the oil in your Toro 20489 mower after the first 5 hours of use, then annually or every 25 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
The Toro Super Recycler 20489 requires SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
To adjust the cutting height on your Toro mower, use the height-of-cut levers located on each wheel. Move the lever forward to lower the cut and backward to raise it. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height.
If the mower is not mulching properly, check the blade for sharpness and damage. Clear any grass clippings or debris from the underside of the deck. Ensure the grass is dry and not too tall when mowing.
To clean the mower deck, first disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings and debris from under the deck. Allow the deck to dry thoroughly before storage.
Before storing the Toro Super Recycler 20489, clean the mower, change the oil, and add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered location to protect it from weather damage.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire and use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Check the gap on the new spark plug and adjust if necessary, then install it and reconnect the wire.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade. Inspect the blade for bends or damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the blade is properly tightened.
