To start the Toro SnowMax 724ZXR 38720, make sure the fuel shut-off valve is open, the choke is set to full, and the throttle is in the fast position. Then, pull the recoil starter handle to start the engine.
Use a high-quality 5W-30 oil for optimal performance in all temperatures. Check the oil level regularly and change it as recommended in the owner’s manual.
If the snow thrower doesn't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and in good condition, and verify that the choke and throttle are set correctly. Clean or replace the air filter if necessary.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, inspecting and replacing the spark plug if needed, cleaning the air filter, and checking the auger and impeller for wear. Lubricate moving parts as recommended in the manual.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the bolts on each side and slide the shoes to the desired height. Ensure both sides are even, then retighten the bolts securely.
Check if the chute is clogged or if there is a buildup of snow and ice. Ensure the auger and impeller are not worn out and are functioning properly. Adjust the throttle to the fast position for maximum throwing distance.
To store the snow thrower, drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the machine, and check for any needed repairs. Store it in a dry place, and cover it to protect from dust and debris.
Always wear appropriate clothing and safety gear, keep hands and feet away from moving parts, and be aware of your surroundings. Turn off the engine before making any adjustments or unclogging the chute.
For heavy snow, make multiple passes, keep the throttle at the fast position, and adjust the chute for optimal snow direction. Ensure the auger and impeller are clear of debris and in good condition.
If the auger is not turning, check the auger drive belt for wear or damage and ensure it is properly tensioned. Inspect the shear pins and replace them if they are broken.
