To start the Toro SnowMaster 724 QXE, ensure it's on a flat surface, connect the power cord if using electric start, move the choke lever to the 'choke' position, and pull the recoil starter or press the electric start button.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
Check the fuel level and ensure it is fresh. Verify the spark plug is connected and in good condition. Ensure the choke is in the correct position and that the throttle is set to 'fast'.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then annually or after every 50 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the machine thoroughly, and store it in a dry, protected area.
Loosen the skid shoe bolts, adjust the skid shoes to the desired height, which is typically a 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap between the scraper and the ground, then retighten the bolts.
Before each use, check the oil level, inspect for loose parts, ensure the auger and impeller are clear of debris, and check the tire pressure.
To prevent clogging, avoid using the snow thrower in wet or slushy conditions, and always run the machine at full throttle for optimal performance.
Check if the auger or impeller is clogged, ensure the throttle is set to 'fast', and inspect the belt for wear or damage. Adjust the chute deflector as needed.
To replace the drive belt, first, disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the belt cover, release the tension on the belt, remove the old belt, and install a new one following the belt routing diagram. Reattach the belt cover and reconnect the spark plug wire.
