Toro Snow Commander 38601 Operator's Manual

To start the Toro Snow Commander 38601, ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open, set the choke to full, and pull the starter handle firmly. Once it starts, gradually move the choke to the off position.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent damage to the engine.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then once every season or after 25 hours of operation, whichever comes first. Use SAE 5W-30 oil for best performance.
To prevent clogging, clear snow immediately after snowfall. Avoid overloading the snow thrower by taking smaller passes in heavy or wet snow.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is in good condition, and verify the choke and throttle settings. If it still doesn't start, inspect the carburetor and fuel lines for clogs.
Regularly inspect the auger for wear and damage. Tighten any loose bolts and replace any worn-out parts. Lubricate moving parts as recommended in the user manual.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Clean the machine thoroughly and store it in a dry place. Cover it to protect from dust and moisture.
Loosen the skid shoe bolts, adjust the skid shoes to the desired height, and re-tighten the bolts. Ensure both sides are set equally to maintain even clearing.
Stop the machine immediately and check for debris in the auger or impeller. Inspect for any damaged or loose parts, and repair or replace them as needed.
Turn off the snow thrower and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the belt cover, release the tension on the belt, and replace it with a new one. Ensure it is properly seated on the pulleys before reassembling.
