To start the Toro S-200 38232 Snow Thrower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged, and the throttle is set to high. Pull the starter rope until the engine starts, then gradually open the choke.
Use fresh, clean unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and verify the choke and throttle settings. Additionally, inspect the fuel line for clogs or damage.
Regularly check and replace the spark plug, change the oil, inspect the belts for wear, and ensure the auger is free of debris. Clean the snow thrower after each use to prevent rust and buildup.
Check for any obstructions in the discharge chute and auger. Ensure the auger is rotating properly and inspect the belt for wear or tension issues. Adjust the chute direction and angle as needed.
To replace the spark plug, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the spark plug wire, use a spark plug socket to remove the old plug, and install a new plug gapped to the manufacturer’s specifications. Reattach the spark plug wire securely.
Adjust the carburetor by turning the idle and mixture screws to achieve a smooth idle. Start with the manufacturer's recommended settings and fine-tune as necessary for your altitude and climate.
Use SAE 5W-30 oil for best performance in cold weather. Check the oil level before each use and change the oil according to the schedule in the operator's manual.
To store the snow thrower, drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent degradation. Clean the machine thoroughly, lubricate moving parts, and store it in a dry, covered area. Remove the spark plug and add a teaspoon of oil into the cylinder to prevent rust.
Turn off the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop. Use a clean-out tool or stick to remove the obstruction from the chute. Never use your hands to clear a clog.
