To start the mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Turn the key to the start position while holding the brake lever. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for signs of wear or damage and replace if necessary. Also, verify that the battery is charged.
To use the SmartStow feature, first ensure the fuel tank is less than half full to prevent spillage. Clean the mower deck, then tilt the mower vertically by lifting from the handle for compact storage.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil before each use, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the blade for sharpness, and checking tire pressure. Perform annual maintenance such as changing the spark plug and oil.
Ensure the blade is sharp and free of nicks. Adjust the mowing height according to the grass type and condition. Mow when the grass is dry for an even cut.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged blade or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade for damage and replace if needed. Ensure the blade is properly balanced and securely attached.
To change the oil, warm up the engine, then turn it off. Remove the oil fill cap and tip the mower on its side to drain the oil into a suitable container. Refill with the recommended oil type and amount.
Uncut patches can be due to a dull blade, uneven mowing surface, or incorrect mowing speed. Sharpen the blade, check tire pressure, and adjust the mowing speed for optimal results.
Ensure the mower is off and remove the spark plug wire. Use a hose to spray away grass clippings and debris. For stubborn debris, use a plastic scraper. Dry the deck thoroughly to prevent rust.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using ethanol blends above 10%. Store fuel in a clean, sealed container and fill the tank outdoors to avoid spills.
