To start the mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline, the oil level is adequate, and the battery is charged if applicable. Pull the starter rope or turn the ignition key if it's an electric start model.
Check if there is fuel in the tank, the spark plug is connected, and the air filter is clean. Also, inspect the starter mechanism and ensure the safety key is in place if it's an electric start model.
Regularly inspect the blade for wear and damage. Sharpen the blade at least once a season or after 25 hours of use. Always disconnect the spark plug before working on the blade for safety.
To use the SmartStow feature, ensure the fuel tank is empty to prevent leaks. Fold the handle according to the instructions in the manual, and then safely tilt the mower to store it vertically.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then at least once every mowing season or after 50 hours of operation. Use SAE 30 oil for best performance.
Check if the blade is dull or damaged and sharpen or replace it as needed. Ensure the mower deck is clean and level. Adjust the cutting height evenly on all wheels.
After each use, disconnect the spark plug wire and use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings. Scrape off any remaining debris with a putty knife for thorough cleaning.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can clog the mower deck, cause uneven cutting, and pose a safety risk. Wait until the grass is dry for optimal results.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Choose from multiple height settings to achieve the desired grass length.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade and replace if necessary. Also, check for loose bolts and parts and tighten them securely.
